The Moon Studio
Leela has two rooms. The Main Studio is where most of our classes live — and the Moon Studio. Our infrared heated room, built for sweat, depth, and a different kind of focus. The heat in here doesn’t blast you. It glows.
Why infrared?
Infrared panels warm your body directly instead of heating the air around you, so the room feels like sunshine rather than a sauna blast. Students tell us it’s the first hot yoga they’ve actually enjoyed. Benefits our members love:
A deeper warm-up — muscles loosen faster, so you can move into postures with more ease and range
Sweat that builds gradually — you heat from the inside out instead of getting hit with hot air the moment you walk in
Easier breathing — no heavy, humid, forced-air feel; the air stays comfortable
Recovery support — the deep warmth helps sore muscles and stiff joints feel better after class
A calmer nervous system — the steady, even heat lets you settle in and actually focus on your practice

The Moon Mural
The Moon Studio’s back wall is a mural by Leela member and artist Kelly Jackson — and it’s really three murals in one. Painted to transform with the light, it shifts with the room: one experience in full light, another under blacklight, and a third in the dark. Designed from a study of the artist’s own hands — one holding a ‘moon ball’ — it watches over every class in here, from the first infrared sweat to candlelit stillness.
Come see it change. Book a Moon Studio class and catch it in all three of its moods.
Meet the artist
Kelly Jackson is a Baton Rouge artist, designer, writer, storyteller, podcaster — and Leela member. A professional hand-lettering artist since 2012, her work explores the meeting point of visual art, movement, and the spaces we move in; she also painted the Centennial mural at Capital Area United Way’s headquarters in downtown Baton Rouge. Her podcast, Dreamed It Then Real Lifed It, is a weekly conversation on consciously creating a life that reflects your soul — mindset, metaphysics, self-love, and the real work of becoming.
